Yeo Siew Hua


︎BIOGRAPHY
YEO Siew Hua’s A LAND IMAGINED (2018) won the Golden Leopard at the 71st Locarno Film Festival and is Singapore’s entry to the Academy Awards (Oscars) 2020. It is internationally distributed on Netflix and is the first ever Singapore-French-Dutch co-production. The film also won Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Music Score at the prestigious 56th Golden Horse Awards 2019. The film also received multiple top awards for Best Picture at international film festivals around the world and was awarded the Roberto Rossellini Jury Award at the 2nd Pingyao International Film Festival 2018 in China. He was awarded the Leslie Ho Asian Film Talent Award from the 29th Singapore International Film Festival 2018, in recognition of his contribution to the development of cinema in Asia.

His films have crossed platforms outside of conventional cinema networks and was programmed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Taipei and the NTU Centre for Contemporary Arts (NTU-CCA) in Singapore. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Screen Academy and also a member of the 13 Little Pictures film collective.
